Site C Project

March 28, 2016
Presentation

Bernard Gagné recently moved from the SNC Lavalin’s office in Montréal. Mr. Gagné will lead the Site C SNC Lavalin’s team for the next couple of years in Vancouver. Graduated from Université Laval of Québec in geological engineering, Bernard has grown a passion for hydroelectric projects as he has been working on multiple projects such as Péribonka and Romaine 2 for Hydro-Québec as well as the Lower Churchill Project for Nalcor, in Newfoundland & Labrodor. For the last 5 years, Mr. Gagné has been working for SNC Lavalin as General Senior Director and Vice President. As he is starting on this new project, he kindly offered to give a presentation about it for our French-speaking assembly!

The Site C Clean Energy Project (Site C) will be a third dam and hydroelectric generating station on the Peace River in northeast B.C, about 7 km Southwest of Fort St John. It will provide 1,100 megawatts (MW) of capacity, and produce about 5,100 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity each year – enough energy to power the equivalent of about 450,000 homes per year in B.C.

More information about Site C here… and at the presentation!
